Varsity Opens 25-26 Campaign with Win

The Cadets opened the 2025-2026 varsity campaign in the win column with a 4-2 victory over Rockwood Summit.

Colin Powers started the scoring in the first period with a shorthanded goal, assisted by Max Rekart. Summit answered in the second period with two quick goals midway through to take a brief lead. Late in the second, Mitch Nappier tied the game 2-2 with a power-play goal, assisted by Joe Thornhill.

In the third period, Powers returned the favor by assisting on a go-ahead goal by Max Rekart to put CBC back in front. Robert Kelly added an insurance goal later in the period, with the assist going to Luke Becker.

Between the pipes, Vinny Majino turned aside 16 of 18 shots to secure the Cadets’ first win of the season.

Varsity returns to action Monday, November 11 vs rival SLUH at 8:30 PM at Affton Ice Rink.
